Brainstorming Magazine Titles
Brainstorming Magazine Titles
Below are some names I came up with when thinking about what to call my magazine.
Welcome to London - 'Welcome to London' was the first name's I came up with. I liked it but soon realised that I was too long to be a title for a magazine so later changed my mind to 'Welcome to LDN'. Even though I had shortened London to LDN there was still three words and most magazine have one word titles and a very few have two but it is very rare to have a title as long as this.
'London Calling...' - 'London Calling...' was my second favourite title. It is a well known phrase in UK and a popular song from The Clash. It maybe unknown to some people in Britain and aboard and may confuse them. It also sounds a bit like a phonebook.
LDN - 'LDN' is my favourite title out of all the ideas I have come up with because it is short and simple and links to Twitter and the younger generations and how they are used to shortening words. This is the title I have chosen to call my magazine.
Mood Board
The mood board below shows what colours and fonts I am planning to use in my magazine.
I have shown the fonts on a light, dark and gradient background to show how well they work on each. I wanted the fonts to be simplistic and thin in weight. The range that I have used varies but I think each one complies to this objective. In the final publication I hope to narrow the number of fonts I use down to ideally 3 but maybe even 2 (depending on if it works or not).
I have also displayed eight colours that could potentially be used as my colour scheme. I have again shown these in three different variations. A flat colour look of no gradient, a light gradient and a dark gradient. I plan to use the flat colour as much as possible but will employ the use of the gradients if they work and look better than a colour with no gradient.
Finally, I have added some example pictures of the sort of places I am going to feature in my magazine. They include Southbank Skate Park, Shoreditch and the London Eye. These places are all in keeping with my target audience for the magazine.

Time Schedule
This is my time schedule for when I plan for all my tasks to be completed by:Time Schedule
June - July: Research layouts for regional magazines and research into the content in each of the magazines.
August - September: Plan my layout and start looking into the content I am going to include in my magazine and start to put together the magazine.
September - October: Finish producing my magazine and get audience feedback.
November - December: Make any changes needed and start to work on ancilliary tasks.
I will do my best to try and stick to the schedule as much as I can and make any change that are needed.
